Project Management for Product Development

The Problem

A company wanted to focus on new product development technology and was transitioning to a project team structure. Leadership decided to establish and implement project management best practices to reduce the time taken for projects to get to market, giving the company an edge in the industry.

The Solution

JET met with project sponsors to coach them on launching product teams. JET then conducted training for the team leaders with a focus on project management processes as well as the roles and responsibilities of team members. JET worked with the newly developed project management office (PMO) to document the project management system tailored to the company’s situation and needs.

The Outcome

Management and team members reported high degrees of satisfaction with the new project management structure and processes; they found synergies and efficiencies that were not present prior. The training accelerated innovative processes and collaboration, and increased communication.
