Presentation Skills for Process Improvement Teams

The Problem

A company was implementing Six Sigma methodology for significant process improvement efforts and was establishing process improvement teams. Team members were required to prepare and deliver presentations to key stakeholders at several steps in the process. The outcome was disorganized content, ineffective visual aids, awkward delivery and ineffective presentation of the teams’ recommendations.

The Solution

Custom presentation training was developed in support of the Six Sigma methodology. The training content included best practices, presentation templates and delivery methods. Training format included classroom instruction, experiential case studies and video-taped deliveries with one-on-one feedback and coaching. Teams used their actual data and content to learn and practice presentation skills.

After three months, a follow-up session reinforced and enhanced the skills learned. Company presentations were filmed and reviewed to ensure design and delivery.

The Outcome

The Six Sigma teams enhanced their presentation skills to effectively communicate process improvement results as well as engage audiences in supportive discussions.
