DNA/RNA Analysis
The Problem
Interest in DNA/RNA data acquisition and analysis has exploded since the rise of COVID-19 and the development of its vaccines. Our client had a legacy DNA/RNA data acquisition system written in C# and a legacy data analysis package written in LabVIEW.
The systems required major improvements in data integrity tracking for FDA compliance and administrative feature additions. This meant significant changes to the software packages’ architectures and interfaces. The customer also required simultaneously supporting continued release of updates for existing customers during the project.
The Solution
JET used an Agile approach to refactor major portions of both software packages without significantly impacting the software release schedule.
The Outcome
JET updated both the C# and LabVIEW software packages and integrated them with one another and a third application dedicated to managing users and data access permissions.
As JET refactored the software, the customer was surprised and pleased to find significant performance improvements as well.
